My Background

I began my work in the counseling field 19 years ago, primarily supporting individuals with substance use disorders. Over time, I observed that many of my clients were struggling with unresolved trauma, which often played a central role in their use of substances. This realization guided me to focus my professional development on trauma and trauma-informed care.

I pursued extensive training in trauma-focused therapies, including experiential approaches such as equine-assisted psychotherapy, expressive arts therapy, sandtray, horticultural therapy, and nature-based psychotherapy. Wanting to offer a more holistic and flexible approach beyond the structure of traditional addiction counseling, I became licensed to provide both mental health and addiction treatment.

I hold Master’s degrees in Social Work, Ecopsychology, and Transpersonal Studies, along with graduate certificates in Rural Social Work, Social Work with Military Families, Criminal Justice, and Creative Expression. My additional training includes play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I am a seasoned EMDR therapist as well as a certified Outdoor Therapist.

Today, my practice focuses on supporting adults—particularly women and first responders—who are ready to address trauma, shift limiting beliefs, and reconnect with themselves. I offer virtual EMDR therapy and nature-based sessions, blending evidence-based treatment with a grounded, compassionate approach.
